<<progol, I may have walked past your B&B on the way back from the La Cosecha organic market. I thought that area and around Jardin Conzatti looked like a good alternative to the Centro hotels. Be sure to check out the stalls at La Cosecha, especially the coffee and the ice cream vendor.

Thank you, I will! I'm starting to get excited!

Casa Los Arquitos is on the street where some scenes from Nacho Libre were shot. One of my favorite movies ever. But I have an odd sense of humor.
You mentioned you like simply wandering the streets and enjoying the colonial architecture and a place with charm & character. While in Puebla, if you can fit it in, a day trip to Atlixco would tick those boxes. We originally booked just 1 night but stayed for another we liked it so much.

Thanks, baldone! I’ll see how we feel when we get to Puebla and how much we want to go somewhere else. Atlixco looks charming, so it’s nice to have an option. Though I suspect we’ll be busy enough with Puebla and a trip to Cholula.

I don't know anything except what I have read about so far. As of now I have reserved 3 hotels, 4 nights in Oaxaca city, 3 nights in Puebla city, 8 nights in Mexico city.

Sounds good. We decided to stick with Oaxaca only (10 nights) and we, too, will have 8 nights in Mexico City.

We lost a night when the airline canceled our late flight to Oaxaca, and though we wouldn't have lost much time, it made us realize that we wanted to slow down and relax into a place. Hence, the decision to stay longer in Oaxaca.

I have friends who love Oaxaca and are meh about Puebla; others who feel the opposite. So for now, I'm going with the Oaxacans!
