I would not recommend taking traveler's checks. To cash them at the American Express main office in BA, first you have to wait on a long line to establish your identity, then you have to get on another line to cash the checks. If that's how you want to spend a day in BA, go for it. In any case, you still have to guard them almost like cash if you don't want to have to go through the hassle of replacing them if stolen. Take a wad of cash and use the ATM's. Whatever you do, don't go to the cambio stand before customs at EZE, unless you want to pay a much higher exchange rate.
