Carhire _Merida Yucatan

Hello again,
I now need to hire a car from Merida for 2 (?) days late December 2016 to tour the Ruta Puuc, where I shall be spending a night in Sant' Elena: any ideas of the best company to approach to include all the mandatory insurance but still be the best price?
Thanks!

Easyway. Look on their website for insurance and prices.

Hello, so I am looking at easyway and I can get a dodge atos (regular transmission - I assume that's manual - which is what I want) for $110 for 2 days (late in December): then it offers CDW. TP, ALI, and PAI for $36: shall I take it? (I don't have any of my own insurance on any of my credit cards).
Thanks

I am seeing online right now:
http://www.yucatancarrental.com/step2.php

U$60 for the random 2 days I selected in late December (just car, not including insurance).

and:
Insurances 36.00
Subtotal 96.00
State Tax + 15.36

Total of USD $111.36

I think it might depend on which dates you are typing in vs. what I used.

For your specific dates (not my random ones in Dec. that were different), I now get (on the website) exactly what you wrote in your second post.

Thanks I think I'll take it then - but one more word of advice please SambaChula - does the insurance include Liability Insurance (I assume that's the ALI or SLI); CDW; and EPC (zero deductible) - is that all I need for insurance, I haven't a clue with the Mexican insurances? Thanks.

Also, someone's just told me the dodge Atos is a miniature car - although i am always happy with economy size cars in europe - I just want to go around the Ruta Puuc, what are your thoughts?

We always use America in Cancun and in Playa... not sure if they have an office in Merida. That said, we use their service and have had very few concerns. Please make sure there are 2 license plates on the car as the police officers often remove a plate for parking infractions, but that does not stop the rental companies from renting out the car anyway. Check out the America web site...it is very clear and easy to understand.
I have also heard good things about Easyway as mentioned above.

in anticipation of an early december week's driving trip in the yucatan, i looked for car rental via "kayak"

incredibly ( about 6 weeks ago) there were plenty of offers like the one we took:

toyota corolla for one week unlimited kilometers= $US 5.71 per WEEK

yes per WEEK!

at the price i even popped for the rental company's insurance wrap @ $US 9 per day

all in $US 68.71

by far the lifetime best car rental i have ever sourced!

cheers

But which car rental company did you actually get the car from? Also, did the insurance include ALI, PAI, CDW and TP?
I would be interested to know and thanks.

Andrew: Have a backup, it's very, very likely a scam.
