From San Jose we are driving to Arenal then to Monteverde and then back to SJ.
We have heard Adobe is good, any others?

I like Adobe, I have rented from them the most, never had a problem. I have also used Toyota - http://www.toyotarent.com/ twice no problems, and used Mapache - http://www.mapache.com/ no problems.
