canopy tours in Jaco/MA area
 

Our Costa Rica adventure starts Friday! We'll be staying near Jaco for several days and want to do a canopy tour while we're there. I've seen names of several - does anyone know of one that's particularly good? From this message board I've seen the name Turi Bari (sp?), but can't seem to find much info about it anywhere else. Any help will be appreciated!

I cant help you compare but I can recommend Canopy Safari, which we did last year. They had (going from memory)about 6-7 zips and three repels. Fed us a great meal at the end and took us swimming in a local hole.

The guides were very profesional, safety concious, and friendly. Great time for the adults and kids in our group.

We recently did the canopy tour just outside of Jaco called the waterfalls safari. It was just beautiful with 7 or so zips, a tarzan swing, treehouse, a hanging bridge and a rappel at the end. I think the website is waterfallscanopy.com. I think it was $55 with a discount for students.

They have two separate zip lines adventures. (we did both) One is a regular zip line/canopy tour, and one is called "superman" in which you are strapped into a harness head first, with your hands free (to fly like Superman). It is 1 kilometer long and very fun.

The website lists all the things to do at Turubari. In addition to the zip lines, we did the horseback riding, toured the butterfly gardens and did the labrynth. They give you ten minutes to find your way out, then they turn on the sprinklers.

We also had the buffet lunch there and found it to be very good. You could easily spend a full morning and part of an afternoon there.

I just returned from a wonderful vacation in Esterillos, about 20 minutes from Jaco. We did the Chicklettes (like the gum) canopy tour. It's just past the Terraza del Mar at Playa Hermosa. 12 or 13 zips, hanging bridge, very nice view of the beach. Since you will be in Jaco for a few days, be sure to have dinner at Wish Bones (on the beach side of the main drag but it's hard to see the sign) and Poseidon. Both top notch and not expensive.
