canopy tour

If we were to choose a canopy tour for a family...that is not all 100% sure about this adventure, which one would you suggest. We will be in Arenal and MA for our vacation?

I did the one in Arenal and one in Monteverde. While I liked the one in Monteverde more, the one is Arenal was fun with a spectacular view. Have fun.

The guides at the canopy tour at Arenal Paraiso are really good. I've taken people of all ages on that one and everyone had a great time and felt safe. There's also a new canopy tour that goes over the La Fortuna waterfall -- I haven't been on that yet, and there's another one at the Eco Lodge on Lake Coter if you happen to be on the other side of Arenal.

We just got back from Costa Rica and did the skytram/skytrek in Arenal and felt very, very safe. We love the braking system and felt that the platforms, equipment and cables were well cared for and in great condition. The guides were excellent-they checked our equipment many times and were very professional. For the younger members of the group they can be hooked in with the guides and if anyone doesn't want to do the zip lines they can have an educational canopy tour taking the sky tram both ways. It was one of the highlights of our trip! Sharon

Sharon, Is this canopy ride really, really high up? Thanks Andrea

Yes it is really high up, some of the runs are 200 feet off the ground over a valley. I am usually really, really afraid of heights but I wasn't afraid of this. The platforms are really long and you don't have to step off the end of the platform but rather you get into position and are propelled off the platform by the guide. It was really amazing.

It is high up but it is safe. I strongly recommend doing it.
