Cancun Travel Advisory?

The US State Department recently issued a travel advisory for Cancun. Does anyone have more specific information on what is happening there? Does anyone know of an English language news web site for Cancun?

I just looked at this travel advisory on the web page for the US State Department. You can go to that web page and follow the links to Travel Advisories. It says they are demonstrating over the resignation in the city council and the removal of the mayor. It goes on to say to avoid crowds. I think it's a no-brainer to avoid demonstrations, so if you have plans to go to Cancun, I don't think this should change anything. Just kick back at the hotel, have more margaritas, and let the demonstrators do their thing. :-)
