Cancun/PDC area for April 2007? Ready from hurricane for vacationing? (JW Marriott esp.)
 

Hi everyone,

Looking into traveling to Mexico (Cancun/PDC/Cozumel) area for April 2007...one place I would love to stay is JW Marriott Cancun. I know it is re-opening this summer...anyone know what the area is like? Do you think it will be fine by April '07 for vacationing there?

That's a long time away to predict what will happen weather wise. With hurricane season just beginning we'll have to wait and see.

I think as long as there are no more natural disasters, the area will be just about completely back to normal. (Someone on the tripadvisor site posted some brand new pictures of the JW -- looks like it's almost ready to open --)

We booked the flights today, so hopefully it will be okay for next April! We reserved so early because we had to get 1 ff ticket.

Even if we do get hit again the repairs to the area were so quickly done and the choices in the area if you weren't able to stay at the Marriott are so abundant I don't think you'll have a problem. We're going down next week, in August and again in September. Hopefully all will go well. Have a great time!

Beachgirl, can I ask why you chose the JW Marriott? We are also thinking about staying there, but I'm interested in other people's opinions/reasons for choosing that hotel.
