Cancun in March: how to avoid Spring Break crowds

Going to Cancun March/April (only time we can get away). Went to Playa last year, stayed at Spa Palace which we liked. Doing Palace again (timeshare). Want to try something different (better beach) but not with all spring breakers. We're a couple in our 40's looking for good beach, good food, and a little evening entertainment. Heard Sun Palace doesn't get crowded with springbreakers - True?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From our experience in Cancun during spring break, there were absolutely no spring breakers at the sun palace. There didn't appear to be any at the moon or beach palace either (although we just visited those places, we stayed at the sun). the cancun palace was loaded with breakers.

If you want to try something different. I would recommend Tulum. It is about 70 miles south of Cancun. My husband and I just stayed at Cabañas La Conchita. They have a private beach. It is a low key setting with 9 grass hut style rooms right on the beach.

It is close to the Tulum Ruins and Xel Ha. Buen Viaje
