there is so much info out there already, I guess I'd do a search on this forum putting in exact questions, and you'll bring up a wealth of info.
(I don't think you need vaccinations to go to Cancun.)

I am just looking for specific info from those who have been there....I guess and it is hard for me to browse the forums without getting off track....I am sorry i am so techno challenged...I always get wonderful help from all here and so appreciate it! Cancun is sooo Americanized - you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I would use the same precautions as you would visiting a large city...like Las Vegas.

We've been to the area 3 times. We've never had any special vaccines. The water is purified at all main tourist places (hotels, restaurants, etc). Bottle water is also provided in many resorts. As far as money, there are ATMs all over and of course you can use your credit cards. You don't need too much cash, unless yuo plan on shopping in the smaller local markets.

You can't be that tehcno-challenged if you posted a message here, so i don't think you will have any trouble reading up on Cancun in the destinations section for the fodors site.

You don't need to book tours in advance. All the hotels have tour desks, and there are many agents in shopping area where you can book tours as well.

Thnaks for all the assistance....I still find searching thread rather hard.... but I am trying..... and I have a difficult time finding a thread after I found it once, to see the follow ups...THANK you to all! We are a young family who has caught the travel bug and we are scrimping and saving all year to go on trips! We are really learning what are deals and are not through fodors ...THANKS

Fodors hotel section is really reliable with good thorough reviews, and the restaurant section is helpful too.
Tripadvisor.com is also a help but you really have to read a lot of reviews to help you get a feel for a hotel.
