Cancun for Christmas/New years

Hi,
I'm arriving in Cancun on Dec 24'th and leaving on Jan 1'st.
Need to plan out our itenary and we are definitely interested in Tulum/Cancun Hotel zone for those 7 days.
Is Cancun overcrowded during this time?. If so, should I book snorkelling trips/trips to ruins really early?. What about airport transfers on Dec 24'th. I know there's a lot of details in this forum which is very good but I'm looking for more about things to watch out for during Christmas/New Years.
Thanks,
David

We flew into Cancun last Dec. 23, but stayed in the Riviera Maya area. At that time Cancun was still recoering from the hurricane and still is, so the town of Cancun was not crowded. Our hotel (Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar0 was fully booked and was wonderful.
People did not have trouble booking side trips.
We booked a package through Apple Vacations so our sirport transfers were included. I did book a private transfer to go back to the airport. I booked through www.cancunvalet.com and they were great.

I would expected Cancun to be very crowded this year. That is the single most popular travel week of the entire year in this region. :-)

I just learnt that cancunshuttle won't be operating on Dec 24'th. Anybody have any ideas how to get to the hotel zone on this day?
