cancun couples or spring breakers
 

Tell me is Cancun a nice place for couples or is it more like just a spring break party place? Any good time to go like beginning January or mid?

I went during spring break in 1998 or 99, I can't remember. It was the epitome or spring break fun. I've never been there any other time, so I unfortunately can't tell you whether it's like that year round, although I have a feeling it isn't. January is a prime time to go, it's not as hot as the summer months.

There will be no spring breakers in January. It is a nice place but very not Mexico. If this is your first time outside the USA it is a good choice. Sort of like a cross between Miami Beach and Las Vegas with a beach and no casinos.

Have you considered Playa Del Carmen?...It's only 45 minutes from Cancun but it's like another world...Tho' it's starting to get touristy, it's still more like Mexico!...There are plenty of great hotels, all inclusive and not...And NO high rises!!!!! <BR> <BR>LIZ <BR> <BR>

I think it depends on the couple. My husband and I love Cancun. We like going to all the clubs,partying and meeting people the whole time we are there. It is very commercialized and often crowded though. We do find the beach at night very romantic. It has a nice blend of nightlife and gorgeous beaches. I haven't been to Playa del Carmen yet but I have heard great things about it. Maybe this is more ideal for "getting away". I fell in love with Cancun because it is fairly inexpensive. We can go there cheaper than driving to beaches in our area.
