Do ATM cards work in Cancun and how many ATMs are there?

They sure do - most of the time anyway - weekends and late evenings a lot of the ATM's in more popular shapping areas are our of cash, however.

Be sure your PIN is only 4 digits long, however - you can contact your bank to get a new shorter PIN if necessary -

There are several ATMs apiece in all of the hotel zone malls. Most banks in Cancun Centro have walk up ATMs. Sams Club, Wal-Mart & Costco have them as well.

No offense intended but to ask how many ATMs are in Cancun is like asking how many are in Miami. Cancun is not a small resort area--it is huge with ATMs everywhere. I do use them in Mexico because you wil get very close to the official bank rate.

There are in Isla Shopping Mall, Kukulcan, Caracol, Forum, all over the Kukulcan and downtown Cancun.
