Cancun Airport to Playa del Carment transportation

Hello, I understand that there is a bus called the ADO bus or the Riviera bus that will take folks from the airport to Playa del Carmen for approximately US$11 per person? Is there a schedule of departure times from the airport? And how about departure times from Playa to return? Also, I will be traveling with two children (ages 7 and 10) - will this be difficult to manage as a result? Many thanks for your help!

The cheapest way out of the airport is on the official "ADO" red/grey buses going to Playa del Carmen.Playa Del Carmen $90 Pesos or $7.50 USD one-way

Ticket window is located Just outside of Terminal 2 Baggage claim exit [Go Right then look left for the "ADO" Airport Shuttle Counter]. Tickets sold in the exit lounge area in Terminal 3 after you clear Customs.

Playa del Carmen direct service starts at 10:30am from Terminal 3 and 10:45am from Terminal 2. This service runs every HOUR until 10:15pm [last direct run]. Transit time approx 1 hr depending on highway traffic.

If price is no object with children hotel pickup or
private taxi xport the way to go espcially if new to the
area.

Sometimes complimentary with certain PDC AI Hotels

Check this thread for all the info you'll need: http://www.fodors.com/community/mexi...un-airport.cfm.

I just booked roundtrip private door-to-door transfers with entertainment-plus for 5 of us in January. It came to $120.

My wife and I have used the ADO bus many times from the airport to Playa. It is a comfortable and air conditioned bus. Use it and save money.

MFNYC - Who did you book through? I'm usually a public transportation sort of a gal but I'll have 6 in my group next Christmas - maybe the small extra cost would be worth the reduction in hassle with a multi-generational group.

I'll look forward to it! We are normally more off the beaten path type travelers: village visits, homestays, budgetish lodging that locals would use. The trip next Christmas will be in a big timeshare with our daughter and her husband and his parents - a whole different experience but it's own kind of culture, I'm sure!

This is the first time we are using this kind of transportation as well. The last time we flew to Cozumel and took the ferry over. Years ago, when we stayed at resorts, they always provided the transportation.

Just reporting back that we (5 of us) just used entertainment plus to book airport transfers and it worked out really well. It was easy to find the greeter, when we exited the airport, and he in turn called for the driver to meet us at a designated spot. the pickup ride arrived at our condo early. I would definitely recommend this service.
