Cancun

Anyone in Cancun now???? Please post weather conditions. The weather channel website states thunderstorms everyday.......leaving for Cancun on 10/24/15 for 1 week. Would enjoy some sunshine.

I'm not in Cancun, but vacation regularly in Puerto Vallarta.

When they say "thunderstorms every day" could mean for 15 minutes in the afternoon or even in the middle of the night, not that it's going to pour rain 24/7.

You will have some sunshine.

Cancun is in the tropics, and October is a rainy month, so thunderstorms everyday are not unusual. As the above poster stated, this doesn't mean you won't have sun. It typically rains an hour or so late afternoon.

Our first trip to the Yucatan was in mid-October. The internet forecast was for storms every day. We never saw even a drop. Sun the whole time.

I'm a regular poster on the Trip Advisor forum for PV and this question comes up almost daily this time of year, when people are looking at the weather reports online. The best advice we can give is, don't worry, just go!

Another good trick is to find a webcam somewhere in the area and watch that to see what the weather is actually like.

thank you all for the info.

Or use a better weather website, that gives hourly forecasts, such as Accuweather.

Good advice about the live cams.

For the second trip, at the same time of year, I watched the live cam at Akumal daily, partly for the weather and partly just in anticipatory dreaming. :-)
