canapy tours in Tabacon

Thanx to all who responded to my immunization question. We leave for CR in 6 days and just saw online that the Oringial Canopy tour no longer provides service in the Tabacon location. Are there other safe canopy tours that someone can recommend in that area? Have there been any accidents on these things? Can we book ahead? We are staying at the Tilajari resort b/c that is all we could book. Again thanks for your help.

Yes, there have been accidents. Any sort of moving device will have accidents. But the accident rate is pretty low.

tennisjan224,
So glad to hear you are staying at Tilajari--it is a very nice place even though it is a bit of a drive from Arenal. The first time we visited the Arenal area we chose to stay at Tilajari simply because, at the time (3 years ago), it was getting excellent reviews in the guide books. Not sure about now, but we certainly weren't sorry we stayed there! The grounds were pretty, the rooms nice, the staff very gracious. Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at Arenal Paraiso and they had a canopy tour. We did not do it but everyone looked like they were having a great time! I bet you could pretty much walk right up.

Does anyone know why, and for how long, the canopy ride has not been operating at Tabacon?

Poppa Dec 20th, 2005 11:10 AM

"Wacko"

Yes, can't disagree.

Don't know about Tabacon but have you considered the zipline down from the tram near Arenal and the lake. A trip report was made here a while back with raves about it and the safety quality of the equipment. The report also had a link to pictures of the zipline. You take the tram up the mountain and zip on down. Looks quite good for some thrills. If you or a partner chicken out you can ride the tram down.

We just got back from Costa Rica and let me tell you, you are going to have so much fun. I'm not sure about the Tilajari, but we stayed at a wonder full resort (Palo Verde). This is our fourth time to Costa Rica and we love this resort. I know for a fact they still have room this holiday season. If things don't work out for you at Talajari look them up. Paloverderesort.com They are near Tabacon. As someone else stated Arenal Paraiso has a great canopy tour. It was safe when we went on it.
