Calling cards

Does anyone know how much calling cards are from BA to US? We do not need a lot of minutes-just want to touch base with our kids. Where do you buy them? We do not want to buy another cell phone for this trip and our Verizon does not send international. Is there a better way to call the US than a calling card? Thanks so much.

The best way to call is using Skype. I can't be sure about Argentina, but here in Chile many internet places offer Skype.

And just be sure you see a logo for the American flag, or language that specifically says the card is good to U.S., not just within Argentina. Calls from major cities will give you more minutes to use than from more remote smaller towns.

I think you can get them for as little as $5-$10.

I just bought one yesterday here in BsAs at a little kiosk for 10 pesos (the card has about 60 minutes of time, I think) and was very easy to use.

We found a couple internet cafes with US VoIP for next to nothing to call the US, Canada, etc.
That's the least expensive option unless you have a VoIP account/router and Broadband connection in BsAs.
