Cabo San Lucas or San Jose Del Cabo

We are between staying in Cabo San Lucas at the Pueblo Bonito at Sunset Beach OR San Jose Del Cabo at the Grand Mayan. Any pros or cons for either location will be helpful. Your info always helps me make a good choice.

I posted on your other thread.

I really liked Cabo San Lucas, but I haven't stayed in San Jose to make a comparison.

The resorts are not comparable (not personally experience just reading travel forums about them). Everyone seems to love Pueblo Bonito. Mayan resorts get bad reviews and are well-known for pushy timeshare practices.

Yes, I read the timeshare sellers at the Grand Mayan are unrelenting. And yes, everyone does seem to love PB. From what I read SJ sounds maybe less hectic or touristy (not that I'm not a tourist), and that was what drew me.

While San Jose is smaller, you can find the non-touristy areas in CSL. Many people don't seem to believe this, but I'm here to tell you it's true.

If you look at a map and go on the *inland* side of the main boulevard (not The Marina or Medano Beach side) it's a regular small Mexican town. That's where I stayed and walked around every day. Often I was the only gringo/a I saw. Regular streets with a department store, fabric shops, the small tiendas selling brooms/bulk goods/household items, religious shops, papellerias, tiny local bars/cafes/restaurants, etc.
