cabo hotel with swimming beach?

We're planning a trip to mexico next winter. My understanding is that many of the hotels have no beach or at least the swimming is poor. Is that the case with all or do some have good swimming beaches? Also, which would you recommend for good swimming pools? We won't have small children with us. Thanks for any advice.

Most of the resorts in Los Cabos have beaches; the problem is the dangerous currents, especially on the Pacific Ocean side. The best hotel/safe swimming combination, IMO would be the Hilton Hotel; on the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Right next door to the Hilton is the Melia Cabo Real (all-inclusive resort). Both of these resorts sit on a beautiful stretch of beach. At one end of this beach is a small cove, protected by a man-made jetty. Unless there are storm conditions, this cove is safe for swimming and offers fair (by Los Cabos standards) snorkeling. We have stayed at the Melia Cabo Real and would rate it 3 1/2 stars. Haven't stayed at the Hilton but have walked the grounds......it's a gorgeous resort!
If you want to be closer to town, try the Melia San Lucas; a 4 star resort that sits on Medano Beach. The beach is safe for swimming but the water is full of jet skis & water taxis and the beach is crowded with tourists and vendors.

Or forget over Americanized, crowed Cabo with its rows of US fast food & go to La Paz on the Sea of Cortes, a hour North of Cabo. A lovely livable Mexican town that is the capitol of Baja Sur. Miles & Miles of gorgeous safe beaches in both directions, A charming Malecon with excellent cafés to eat & stroll in the evening. A great museum is a real plus, Check it out!

Best description of Cabo San Lucas area is a desert with an ocean you can't swim in.

Tourtist and their kids drown in Cabo yearly. One just recently.

The entire area has dangerous undertows. Big waves crash in and have sucked kids right off the beach. Tragic story of a man going in after his kids. Both him and the kids drowned. Heard of a woman from Texas visting the Hotel Cabo San Lucas , both her and her daughter got caught, they got the daughter out but mom drowned.
Medano Beach, which is a frenzy of beach vendors has most times a swimmable beach.
Cabo has over 1200 beach vendors , most accumalting in an area of 10 blocks long of beach. They are like flies, you keep swatting them and they just keep coming back. Saying NO, simply doesn't work.

one side of lovers beach is swimmable but you want to stay very far away from the Backside of that beach where the Hotel Finisterra is located. Absolutely dangerous.
