Cabo Hotel Recommendations

Hello,

Wife and I are from the San Francisco Bay Area and were looking for a place to go for a four or five nights just to relax on the beach and we were considering Cabo. Could anyone recommend a nice mid range hotel that isn't to far off from restaurants, shops etc.. Also, just in case we want to go the all inclusive route do you know of any good AI's?

Casa Dorado or Club Cascadas are both nice resorts on Medano Beach, which is where you want to be for walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Cabo is not much of an all-inclusive kind of place. I believe the closest to town (and they are a distance, are the two RIU properties).

Many resorts are spread out along a long tourist "Corridor" and no where near town.

There's not too many Cabo people here at Fodor's. You'll want to pop over to www.tripadvisor.com and go to the Cabo destination forum there (not the hotel reviews section rather the forum format, similar to this one). It's VERY active with lots of helpful posts every day. -suze

Cabo is a great get away for we northern ca people. We love Fiesta Americana, Las Ventanas($), Cabo del Sol- Cabo is spread out & cabs are VERY expensive...ex. $40-50 to get into town for dinner if your anywhere near the airport. Cabo is over priced but there are some great restaraunts and it's only a 3 hr flight....

Cabo does not have to be "over priced". It just depends where you stay, where you eat, what you choose to do.

I was downtown at Mar de Cortez ($67/night) for a week, walked everywhere, and ate some fantastic food at reasonable prices.

Flip-side a fancy resort, fishing excursions, sunset cruises, high-end restaurants for dinner, nightlife, sure you could drop a dime in Cabo!

But you can have fun either way :-)

We are also from the greater Bay Area, and just booked an all-inclusive resort in Cabo for five days next week. It's one of those deals where it's very low cost in exchange for listening to a 90 minute time share presentation. We have been promised that after the presentation, there will be no obligation or pressure to buy ... of course, we know we are taking a chance there, but we feel the vacation price is too good to pass up. We'll see ...

Anyway, if you want to check it out, you can google "Villa del Palmar Cabo San Lucas" --- you will see the offer on their web page and then if you're interested there is a toll free number to call.
