Cabo airport transfers

I am going to be staying at las ventanas al paraiso and would like advice on airport transfers. The hotel charges $150 one way which seems astronomical to me. Would it be better to hire a car or is relatively easy to get cabs.

Thanks

Hi Casperj,

Are you sure $150 is for a one way? Transfers in Los Cabos are quiet expensive, but $150 is a common price for a roundtrip private transportation (considering that your hotel is located in the Area 2). Having said that, you can also find shared transportation, shuttle companies will charge you about $15 per person. You can find them directly at the airport (so you don't need to book). Here is one: http://www.loscabosairportshuttle.com

Car rental is also a good idea because isn't that expensive, however it really only worth it if you plan going out Los Cabos, to visit La Paz or more northern areas (highways are in a good shape).

The exclusive resorts, like Las Ventanas al Paraiso, charge a lot for transportation services. Some of our friends stayed at the One & Only Palmilla and they charged them even more.

We have used Cabo Transfers for many years and they are great. There reservation staff is awesome and they always reply quickly to our requests. They have a selection of very nice new vehicles, professional bilingual drivers and really good rates.

I just checked their web site (www.CaboTransfers.com) and from the airport to Ventanas they offer $70 USD one way and $125 USD in luxury private SUV and $17 USD one way and $34 USD in shared shuttle.

I have heard wonderful things about Las Ventanas al Paraiso! I’m sure you are going to really enjoy your stay there!

I booked online in advance with this website. They use TransCabo for their service. It is a shared shuttle, are very inexpensive.

One thing to realize is that the airport is quite a distance (29 miles to downtown Cabo San Lucas) so that's part of why transportation is more expensive than some other cities.

In recent years, we have rented a car, but we have used Cape Travel for transportation. Pre book to avoid the hassle of the timeshare sharks and chaos in the arrivals hall.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I thought $150 was too expensive. I will contact cabo transfers I think.

casperj i will be going in August and staying in Barceló. But i booked my transer with Discovery Mundo. I just checked to your hotel and it is a 50 USD ride per 2 people, seems like a good deal to me.

I've used them before and they are excellent! Good luck!

Topping with current information.........

I just booked airport transfers for a trip in March, and Cape Travel is slightly less expensive than cabosanlucastours/TransCabo.

For a round trip private transfer in a Suburban for 6 pax to Cabo San Lucas (Villa del Palmar), it's $170 USD using Cape Travel, $199 USD using cabosanlucastours/TransCabo.

One-way to VDP using the shared shuttle is $17 with Cape Travel, $19 with cabosanlucastours/TransCabo.
