Buzios in July - help!

We're thinking about booking a last minute trip to Brazil in late July. Looking for beautiful beaches, some water sports, and a few cool places to hang out for drinks and dinner at the end of the day. Want to avoid the package-touristy vibe of some of Mexico's resorts, but also don't want a place that's deserted (or too cold) given that it's winter in Brazil. Any thoughts about whether Buzios would fit the bill? If not, any other suggestions for the Carribbean or Central/South America? Many thanks!

hiya, although its winter here has been between 25-30o every day here for the last 10 days. May get a bit cooler now but rarely below 20. If you want more of a guarantee of good weather have a look at porto de galinhas, near recife in northeast brasil. Amazing beaches, you can visit recife and olinda, the latter especially is a very beautiful colonial town, see waterfalls, chill out etc. Porto de Galinhas was voted the 2nd most beautiful beach in the whole of Brazil!
Or have a look at Natal, also in the north east. Buzios is great, goYod day and night life, nice beaches etc. You'll have fun wherever you go.
