bus trip-Guadalajara to Guanajuato

My wife and I are planning a trip to Guadalajara next spring. We have been advised to take a side trip to Guanajuato. We would like to go to Guanajuato for about 3 days and would go by bus. The travel books I read suggest Premium or first Class. How do I book my bus ticket? Should I let my hotel in Guadalajara do it for me? Has anyone ever taken the bus from Guadalajara to Guanajuato? Are the buses in good shape? My wife can be a little bit of a squemish traveler at times. Is there any problem with just taking cab from the bus station in Guanajuato to our hotel? thanks

Steve

Steve,
The bus trip to Guanajauto is a breeze. Take a cab to the bus station and take an ETN bus. They are first class busses, clean and comfy. The trip will take about three hours. A grubby cab would take the same time, but cost a lot more and be very uncomfortable. No need to reserve usually, but phone the bus company ahead to make sure if you are nervous. They also have a web site, but I wouldn't get a reservation, you may change your plans once you are in Guadalajara.

Thanks Jim: Are the first class ETN buses non-stop from Guadalajara to Guanajuato? Or do I have to change in Leon?
