Bus from Tulum to Corozal

Hello! My fiance and I are getting married at Palladium resort in the Mayan at the end of March and then are honeymooning at Victoria House. We plan on catching the bus from Tulum to Chetumal and then another (Novelo's?) to Corozal, then flying across from there as part of the package with VH. My question is whether we need to book any of this a couple days ahead or can we just "show up"? We plan on travelling on a Saturday on the way there. Any suggestions or tips? What is the approx. travel time to the airstrip?
Thanks!

I recall the trip from Tulum to Chetumal being about three hours. We made the trip the reverse of the way you're going. We had our plane reservations ahead of time, we ended up being the only passengers. When we arrived at the airstrip in Corozal, there was a cab there (I suspect we were lucky). This nice name actually ended up driving us all the way to the bus station in Chetumal for, I think, $40.00. He told us exactly how to do the border crossing, and watched our luggage so we didn't have to drag everything with us. Certainly more expensive than the bus, but it was easy. The taxi driver's name is Alvin Leslie. I can't find his business card at the moment, I'll keep looking. He told us he would even drive to the Cancun airport to pick us up there in the future. I'd go to the Tropic Air web site and see how many flights per day there are from Corozal to AC. Also check Maya Island Air. Have a great honeymoon. Jean

I think JeanH's time reference is about right, although by the time make connections and cross the border and get to the Coro airstrip it's probably closer to four to five hours or longer. Any bus except an express will drop you at the airstrip, which is only a few hundred feet off the Northern Highway.

I believe both Maya Island and Tropic have about five flights each to San Pedro.

I'd make reservations in advance, just in case. Victoria House likely will handle the reservations for you if you don't want to do it yourself on-line.

Thanks for your help! I do believe Victoria house is making the reservation for us but I will certainly double check. I just wanted to get an estimated time frame so we know when to leave the resort with time to spare. Wouldn't want to miss the last flight over to AC!
Thanks again!
