I'm curious what you tip for the tours?

Guenmai Jan 8th, 2010 09:20 PM

A few dollars is what I saw people tipping on two of my small group tours. Happy Travels!

We're going to Buenos Aires next December, 2010. We will be there over Christmas. Is anything open then? Would it be a good idea to tour Tigre or Colonia on Christmas or will everything be closed up? What about going to a beach then...any recommendations?

Neilbit...I ended up missing out on a trip this Christmas to BA, but my friends went and just got back. I hate to say this to you, but they REALLY wished they had done this at another time. Wherever they went, they said everything was closed. For days and days...all around the holidays. I'll try to get one of them, who is a registered on Fodors to reply to this.

I've recently spent Christmas in BA, we went to Colonia on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day most shops were shut, all museums, however we found quite a few restaurants were open. I think shops close earlier on Christmas Eve but I didn't notice any closures before then.

Thanks for your input. We'll have to make the best of it!

Thank you for your report. Did you have any problem with crime or hear of any against other tourists while there.

I was wondering...for just a basic private tour of Buenos Aires, which of the tours that Eternautas offers would you recommend?

Guenmai, I would like to read a more detaled account of your Argentina visit. Not been able to find the other reports that you mention I .hope you will be kind enough to link them here.

I am thinking of a quick BA visit this year....mostly just taking in the glorious architecture, milongas, and food....might be persuaded to extend!
