Buenos Aires Hotel Advice

Can anyone suggest a hotel that is in the Recoleta area that is clean and cheap? I don't need a fancy place but would like it in the Recoleta area as I will be a single female traveling alone and it sounds like this is the safest area to be at night. I am looking for a place in the $30-$60 range. Thanks in advance.

Hotel Wilton Palace on Callao near Santa Fe or Hotel Bel Air on Arenales both fall in this range...the Bel Air is the nicest of the two.....

I am literally off of the plane from Buenos Aires. Yes, Austine, you want to stay in Recoleta, not because it is safe, but because it is very pleasant and all the best cafes and restaurants are in that area. The Etoile Hotel is just across the yard from Recoleta Cemetery, putting it in an ideal location. You could just walk to La Biela, La Strada, or Cafe de la Paix. However, I don't know the price of a room of this hotel. You could do a Google search and find out. Buenos Aires is very safe in the northern districts, so you would be unmolested even if you stayed in El Centro. Taking a cab from El Centro to Recoleta cost me about 1.50 US. American money goes very far in BA. You can have a huge steak dinner with wine and dessert for $20. If you have any questions about restaurants or things to do in BA, just email me at [email protected]
