nevermind, have a wonderful trip!
Sadly, I won't have internet access to catch any recommendations you can add after your BA trip but glad this thread's been useful to more than just me! |
Thanks, weekender. Yes, that's the website I used also. I'll give them another day and then try again.
|
They respond to my emails right away , so try again, it must not have gone through or something.

Okay, I just tried again to email Amici using the form on their website. What's weird is the email line is in yellow and is hard to read when I type my email address. I remember that also from when I reserved the other day. Could that be the problem??

I agree with you regarding that yellow line. I think it is an "auto-fill" line and almost impossible to see if you have entered your email address properly. |
Dear Kavey, Re: your shopping question:
Upon arriving in Palermo I hit all the shops but waited until I went to Recoleta. Palermo has the lovliest boutiques, did not care that much for the shops in Recoleta and they have the mall except for the ones all around the Evita Museum. There are sooo many shops to wander into: Shoes, very different, lots of colorful flats (they're in Spring time now) and most begin at well over USD$150. great purses; here again over $150.00 but the color and styles are fabulous. I think prices in US are much better with our sales, however it's great to get something different and stylish. Also be forwarned that if you charge on M/C you will be charged a 3% foreign exchange on your bill upon your return! Yipes! Better I think to draw from an ATM & Shops do offer a discount for cash. Happy shopping, the clerks are so very friendly even if you don't purchase anything from them. |
Dear SS, thank you so much for taking the time to write. I'm so grateful for all the shared info on this thread!
Unfortunately, I'm rather an atypical girl in that I don't like shopping for clothes, I'm not into handbags and I actively hate shopping for shoes! (I know, contrary or what?!) So I was more looking for shops selling crafts, inexpensive art, unusual items. Such a shame we won't be there on a weekend as it seems the flea markets and antique markets would fit the bill perfectly! Oh well! :) |
Yay! I heard from Amici Mei confirming my reservation for this Saturday night -- very exciting! Again, thanks everyone for all the information shared on this great thread. Hope everyone planning a vacation in Argentina has a fabulous time.

We just went to Freud * Fahler- it was fantastic! very modern, and a clean, 'minimalist' decor, with wonderful food!! and great wine (of course)..
Also loved and recommend: Lele de Troya (where you can sit outside or on the roof) |
