Bucerias, Mexico - Accommodation recommendations wanted
 

Looking at spending two weeks in the Fall at Bucerias, Mexico. Can't find too much info re accommodations in the area. Would like accommodation to be on the beach or close. I would appreciate any recommendations/suggestions?

We spent a week in Bucerias during our spring break in early March. It was a different place than I expected, but we already have reservations for next year. It is a place that will grow on you if you don't mind public buses, chickens in the streets and a lot of retirees. There are plenty of small hotels, bungalows and suites located right on the water. Some are north, some are south, but they all looked about the same. There is a book published by Blue Moon travel on Puerto Vallarta and they have a fair amount of info on that whole area. If you want more info on places to eat, swim, etc...Please reply.

P.s. The people who frequent this area are a little gunshy about sharing info, they want to keep it their own secret.

I'm also thinking about Bucerias for my honeymoon next April. Thinking about Casa Linda II. I haven't figured out how to e-mail people who reply to other people's e-mails so, Steve, could you send me your e-mail so we could talk more -- or anyone who has stayed in Bucerias. We're looking for a two bedroom quiet place on the beach. Thanks!

We stayed in Sayulita for a week in February. It's about 1/2 hour north of Bucerias. We really enjoyed the area. We found our place through a recommendation, but it was also listed on vrbo.com which is Vacation Rentals by Owner. I remember a lot of listings for Bucerias.

Yes, lots of the Puerto Vallarta rental websites also include properties in Bucerias (it's only 1/2 hour north). So check under PV when you're doing internet research.

For Barbara, did you realize Steve's post is 5 years old? I disagree that Bucerias is any big secret these days.

Thanks suze. No, I didn't realize Steve's reply was 5 yrs ago!! I'm wondering what you all think about the noise level During Easter break. We'll be there during that week (April 4-17th). I got a note from someone in Sayulita saying it is very loud there then. Thanks!

Barbara,I believe that Easter will be April 11th next year, which if I remember correctly, the week before that date and the week after are BIG travel times for Mexican nationals. You may have to get started soon on making reservations, as they'll be hard to come by for that time period. As far as noise, I would only comment that sometimes large family groups with lots of children make lots of noise. That would apply to most beach areas as those are the most popular vacation spots for nationals. The beaches and streets will be more crowded during that time than the rest of the year, except for Christmas.

And this is on top of all the spring breakers from the US, Canada and otherwise who will be there. Sayulita, which is further from town, might not be as noisy and crowded as PV, but like I said,all beach areas will attract lots of people during this time.
