Breakfast in Mexico City
Where can we have a tipical breakfast in Mexico City
|
Hi Veram!
There are several well known restaurants in Mexico City for a typical Mexican breakfast. I would say 'Sanborns' chain restaurants would be a good choice for you, as their menu offers a wide range of Mexican breakfasts. The one near Palacio de Bellas Artes (called 'Casa de los Azulejos') is the most known and most wonderful of all of them (otherwise most of them just look like common restaurants), but this 18th-century palace was a very important place during Mexico's revolution. I love this place and Sanborns restaurants in general (as I go there almost once a week), however, one of my favorite restaurants is 'El Bajio,' this is also a chain (but very smaller) that specialise in food from 'el bajio' which is the area around Querétaro and Guanajuato. Lovely decorated, the food is just amazing and the service outstanding! I always go to the one in the Polanco area but have a look here to see their other restaurants: http://www.restauranteelbajio.com.mx/sucursales.php By the way, if you go to 'El Bajio,' you must order a hot chocolate! Enjoy! Laurent |
Laurent, Thank you for your usefull information. I'll try both the restaurants. Have a nice Christmas.Vera

I love El Cardenel for breakfast. It is a wonderful restaurant inside the Hilton in the Centro Historico, it is not affiliated with the Hilton, it just is on the first floor of the hotel, and has been for many yrs, when it was a Sheraton before being a Hilton. The restaurant leases that space. it is also very good for lunch.
