Brazil--need advice on must-sees

Trying to plan what will probably be a 7-9 day trip end of March/early April. Definitely want to see Rio, and I'm thinking one or maybe two other destinations. Anyone have any thoughts between the following options: Iguassu Falls, Salvador do Bahia, Paraty, or Buzios? Thanks in advance!

The Falls should not be missed. It is great.

I loved my 5 day stay in Buzios. It was a fun little town with beaches, shops, great food, dancing and cheap drinks. I also spent 1 1/2 days in Rio and about the same in Sao Paulo. I thought it was a great Brazilian vacation. Not too far to drive from Rio. That's all I can add.

I also think Iguacu is simply an amazing place. Only downside is that it's hard (and expensive) to get there from Rio (23 hours by bus, $400+ by plane).

If you're looking for things CLOSE to Rio, the suggestion for Buzios might be interesting if you like beaches, or a place like Ouro Preto would be good if you like quaint. historical, colonial style towns.

Have fun!
