Brazil honeymoon in September?

My fiance are planning our honeymoon in early September. We will have about 11 days on the ground. We are looking for a combination of beach, hiking, and culture-- but all at a relaxed pace and staying in really nice places. Is this a good time for Brazil? It is a big country-- any thoughts about where would be an especially good place for honeymooning??? Thanks, in advance.

Congratulations! Brazil is lots of fun and 11 days will give you a nice taste of samba, caipirinhas and sun. If you have time after the beaches, check out Iguazu Falls. I suggest 2 nights, 3 days so you can see the Argentine and Brazilian sides. If you stay on the Argentine side, check out the plush jungle lodge- La Aldea de Selva. It is definitely worth a visit.

For me, there is no better honeymoon destination - on the planet! - than the Fernando de Noroinha islands. PERFECT. Eleven days would be a long time just there, but do take your time arriving, aclimating, calming down, then visiting the islands for five or six days, then touching down back in reality again for a reinduction period.

Congratulations. Google Fernando de Noroinha!

I think Rio is the best place for a honeymoon. There is lots to do and see in the city, and lots of day trips to surrounding areas. And September is springtime, great season to go to Rio as it will not be so hot.

Check out Villas de Trancoso in Bahia, it's a great romantic destination. Maybe split that with time in Rio.
