Boutique Hotels in Playa del Carmen

We are looking for a boutique hotel in Playa del Carmen and we found one called "Mosquito Blue" which looks great on its website but would love to hear from someone who has been there/seen it firsthand. Thanks in advance for any info!

There are some reviews for this hotel under tripadvisor.

If you go please post a review. Thx

Hello,

For our last trip to PDC, I had looked at Mosquito Blue, but took it off the list after seeing multiple negative trip reports about surly staff.

Deseo also looks really nice, but I'm afraid the noise would bother me from the pool and bar.

We decided on Playa Maya (for the second year) - not what I'd call "boutique", but clean, safe, nice, reasonably-priced and on the beach.

Not sure what your definition of "boutique" is but I encourage you to take a look at the Shangri-La Caribe. It's on a great stretch of beach, you can walk the beach (about 10 minutes) into town, has a great mexican/tropical ambience and it is very reasonable. A great value!

Also: Lunata is a boutique hotel that looks very nice, and is well reviewed.

Thanks so much for the feedback. The tripadvisor site is excellent. If I decide to try it, I'll definitely post a review.
