Bosque Del Cabo in Feb 09
Our plans are confirmed. We return to BDC in February. After spending last yeat at Chan Chich in Belize we could get used to this annual rotation between these two incredible resorts.
Anyone else going to be there in Feb? |
Sorry, going in June but lucky you!
|
I'm sure many people will be travelling during that time. Be sure to do a role call to meet up with some peeps!
I'll be there in June along with tully and shillmac and mr. shillmac and hopefully some others for a GTG. If you decide to change your dates for any reason between now and then be sure to let us know! |
I'll be there with my husband to be (we're getting married at Ylang Ylang following our stay at Bosque) from Feb. 12 through 16th. We are staying in Tucan. Will you be there at that time? I am over the top excited!
|
EDH, I'd love to hear how Chan Chich compares to BDC. We've had Chan Chich on our radar for a while; we really loved BdC.
|
We’ll be there for 4 nights, from the 15th to the 19th, staying (hopefully) in Congo .
EDH, what are your dates? costaricalover, congrats on your upcoming weeding – see you in February :) |
We are there from Feb 3rd to 11th. So, it looks like we will miss you both. :(
Volcano Girl, Chan Chich is amazing. A little more luxurious than BDC and slightly better food. However, slightly less qty of wildlife (and different wildlife). We went for the chance to see cats. We ended up seeing an Ocelot mother and baby. Here are a few shots for you to take a look at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/atdahl/...7603957554202/ |
EDH--fabulous photos--loved the bird shots (white collared manakin gorgeous), the tarantula, and the ocelots--beautiful!
|
EDH, looking at FF availability, I've found some good flights during spring break.
Ambergris Caye out of the question during that time? How about coupling that with 4 or so nights at Chan Chich? Doable? Chan Chich is my primary goal, but would like a couple of beach days at beginning or end. . .what do you think? |
EDH, your photos are gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing them. Chan Chich looks as amazing as I've heard.
|
EDH,
Fantastic pictures, thanks for saring. Belize was on "the list" of future destinations, but after seeing these pictures, I'll move it up, to the top of the list :) |
That's exactly what I'm thinking, too! Have found great FF flights for spring break, flying during the week and staying away from the weekends. so I need advice!
Perhaps I should start a new thread. . . |
Hi EDH-When we were at Bosque last February(just for a visit-we were staying next door at El Remanso), we saw the view from the Congo cabin--you will not be dissapointed!
Look forward to having a drink with you! |
Sorry, that last message was for XYZ99. EDH, thanks for the photos, am going to check out this place-it looks amazing!
|
costaricalover,
Looking forward to having that drink. I’m not sure we’ll get Congo – we requested it, but it was not confirmed (just a deluxe cabin). In the end, any will be fine, I know. |
Great pics, love the Ocelots!
yes agree about Congo, xyz if you do get Congo make a reminder to self to get off the deck once in a while ;) Seriously had to tear myself away from it sometimes! |
tully,
I will make sure I get off the deck – I cannot miss seeing all the wildlife there, and especially the birds. My husband, though…he might spend all the 4 days enjoying that wonderful view - and a beer or two, of course :) |
We love the Congo cabina and we have requested it again. Great views and the spider monkeys liked to bed down at night in the trees below Congo and Mariposa. It was great to watch them each night.
Regarding CC, I know many people coupled a stay there with other locations like the Cayes or even Lamanai to see the ruins. So, yes, it is doable. Just expect to fly to CC (45 minutes from Belize City vs. 6 plus hours to drive I believe). Here is the review of CC I posted on this forum earlier this year: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...eler&fid=6 |
Your photos are wonderful, EDH. Thanks for sharing them! I am such a wildlife junkie, and would so love to see an Ocelot in it's native habitat! Loved the bird and monkey pics too!
Chan Chich, eh? Hmmm.... |
EDH Traveler
We will be there (likely in Mariposa) overlapping the first two days of your stay. I am in awe of your photography, your Nikon, and your ability to be where the animals are. My wife and I and our Olympus would just love to follow you around to learn how you get the critters to pose! I propose an early morning Tapir Caper, to search for and photograph this elusive bundle of meat. Davy |
