Bosque del Cabo Featured in Tico Times

So much is said on Fodor's regarding BdC, I thought everyone would enjoy reading this recent article from the Tico Times. I noticed that, at the end, it sounds as if the price is "for two" when, in fact, that $140 or $165 or $205, depending, is per person.

hey jill, that's my bathtub! Just kidding :) The prices are well off though, mine is $190 a night in a deluxe in the "green season", not $160. Ah well...

Thanks so much for sharing this! I am so fired up for our first trip to CR, and feel so lucky that we were able to find out about BdC through this wonderful forum. The article has me even more excited!

I can't wait! I also found a wealth of information in the blog that Toni posted here last year. Janenicole, if you have not yet read this blog, I recommend that you do. You'll get some wonderful insight into your upcoming trip. Here is the link that Toni posted here previously:

Enjoy! (Hope Toni does not mind that I reposted this link.)

Tully, you'll get a kick out of this. I e-mailed the article to my kids in Puerto Rico who will be staying with us in march. That will be THEIR tub then! But the pictures didn't e-mail correctly as is often the case. Instead they appeared at the bottom of the e-mail, all in a row, including the one on the newspaper page of the surgery being performed. I sent another e-mail assuring all who are traveling with us that they are NOT going to be going "under the knife" while at BdC! :)

Mixter603 - Yes, I did read Toni's blog, and it was wonderful. She is an excellent writer. This is all so fun!

No problem mentioning my blog. In fact thanks!! This board was invaluable in planning the trip.
We are going back in 08. Planning a family trip . There will be a 5 year old and a 16 month old. BdC replied and said no problem at all with the baby. BUT we aren't sure we want to trek 2 or 3 times a day w\baby from Miramar. Especially at night. We would def. stay in Miramar. The cost of 3 cabinas or one cabina and Casa Blanca make it too expensive. So Miramar it will be. Just hoping the coati critters are under control then! hahaha. I have pics of one crawling all over my head in MX a few yrs ago. It got a little agressive.

But we have Racoons that poop nightly on our deck here at home, they especially like to leave their gifts on our front door mat, I must say it does cut down on door to door sales people! hahaha

Shillmac, Tully, dfarmer, Suzie...et al
any input on an 18 month old there?

Our second plan is ...we rent a nice place in MA for the week, then hubby and I travel on to BdC while the daughters/their hubby's and kids head home! Any help? Suggestions?

BdC was mentioned recently in Travel and Leisure magazine as a great eco Lodge in CR. The word is out!

parrmt, I would like to see the T&L article. Do you remember what month? Do you have the article?

We've had our little one all over the country. Would have no qualms about taking her to BdC either. We'd all take turns toting her around--a good infant carrier for the back would be a great idea for a 16 month old. We used one last year with our 18 month old granddaughter.

Jill, Thanks for the reply re: the 18 month old. (she is 12 days old today! )

Here is the link to the BdC T&L mention. Jan 07 (Ask T&L)

On my first time to BdC there was a couple who was staying in the garden cabina, they were there for like 2-3 weeks! and they had a baby. I'm not so good with babies, so I would say very small and young, and they carried it around day & night on their backs. Seemed odd but the baby seemed pretty happy.

And you are Grandma? Quite a joy, isn't it? Congratulations on your precious new granddaughter!
