Bosque del Cabo Beach Towels also PJ Restaurant Rec.

Leaving a week from tomorrow for BdC and then Iguana Lodge on the Osa. Can anyone tell me if Bosque supplies beach towels for guests? I don't want to pack them if I don't have to since they are heavy.

Also, we'll be going on to Iguana lodge for two days after Bosque. Are there any restaurants that are a must in the area of Puerto Jimenez?

Thanks guys.

Hi Mixter,
Just got back from Bosque and they do supply towels, but they only supply 2 (if you're a couple) and we just brought them with us to the beach. They are very ecologically concious as they are living off the grid, and it never bothered me that we didn't have extras. I wouldn't pack towels, just extra weight!
As for restaraunts in PJ, I can't recommend one, but I have read that there are some decent ones. We did not spend time in PJ.

The food at the IL was very good, we stayed in a cabina so breakfast/dinner was included. Lunch was very good and reasonable. IL is a 15 minute cab ride ($10 each way) from town, so it didn't seem worth it to go there to eat.

We did get stuck in PJ our last night (flight cancelled), so we ate at a local soda, don't know the name, sorry, but it was quite good and cheap. PJ is really small.

Thanks guys. I thought there were blue towels at the pool for the guests last time we were there.

Owlwoman, we are staying in one of the club rooms and have breakfast included. But if you say the food was good then maybe we'll just eat there for each meal. We're only at IL for two days but Bosque for five. Can't wait!

Yes, they want you to take the blue towels to the beach, not the white ones from your room. And you can leave them all sandy in the "dirty" basket by the pool.

Thanks MonicaRichards. I thought so but wanted comfirmation.

Costaricalover, no problemo.

Steph270, we arrive on Sat. March 7th and will leave on Thursday March 12th to go to Iguana Lodge outside of Puerto Jimenez. There will be two other Fodorite couples there as well, lhgreenacres and her S.O. and janenicole and her husband. What dates will you be there?

Wow - once posts drop off the top 25, they sure aren't easy to find. Thought of this post when reading the weekend Tico Times. There's a timely issue about a few new, good restaurants in PJ - http://www.ticotimes.net/travel.htm

Hi Mixter603

Does this mean that you are going to do some relaxing on the beach? Just wanted to say that we are counting down the days and can't want to see everyone. If any other Fodorites are going to there during March 7th-12th, let us know. We will probably be the loudest at the happy hour and having the most fun.

Getting there on the 13th -- so I'll just miss you guys. But, I think someone else from over at Trip Advisor will be there. If anyone is going to be staying in Congo, leave it in good shape for us!

Well, we've requested it, but apparently they can't guarantee a specific cabina -- so I'm keeping an open mind (and fingers crossed). But, I'm sure we'll be happy with whichever one we end up in. Have a great time too!

We found out this afternoon that my partner's father might have to have surgery in the next couple of weeks If so, we've decided to postpone our trip, but we're hoping not to. We'll find out Friday afternoon for sure (and we're supposed to leave next Friday) -- please keep your collective fingers crossed for us! This has been a nail-biting trip-planning experience this time, and it looks like it's going right up to the last minute...

Tully, thanks for the article. I've read it and printed it out to take with us. The pizza place sure looks like it's calling our names... We love to try pizza in different countries and we've never been disappointed yet. Thanks again, only 19 more hours until takeoff. Yeah, I'm a bit excited!

Plum, I hope you guys get good news. We've had to cancel a trip before due to an illness in the family. I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks for the well wishes. We should know in about 24 hours. The waiting is almost unbearable, though I have already decided we will *postpone* not *cancel* -- this is making it a bit more bearable. It's down to the wire though.
