I have unraveled the chain of messages and realize that I was confused by a previous confusion. I remain confused but chastened, but still feel that Iguana Lodge offers some of the best food in Paris, if not the entire state of France.

I promise to be quiet until I have overcome my confusion.

Drat, that means you can't recommend a good dinner for me!

FYI everyone... We just booked the Lost Iguana on travelocity and ended up with a 30% discount!! Hope this helps.

LOL! This is a funny thread. Well, I would stay at Lost Iguana in spite of the food reviews ;-) because I don't choose hotels for the restaurant and it sounds like a fabulous place!

Have a great trip and what a deal you got!

hip, that's our thought exactly. Rarely have we found food at a hotel that's as good or as cheap as what's served at a local restaurant. The Lost Iguana is a great hotel.

dd, congrats on your great discount!

We have friends that just stayed at the Lost Iguana, told us there's another new chef there and the food was pretty good.

When we stayed there last year, we ate all our dinners there as we were too lazy to drive into town (plus we like to have a few cocktails on our deck while watching the volcano). We thought the food was pretty decent, plus we got really friendly with one of the waiters who really added to our experience.

Ohhh, we'll be at BDC from April 19-21st! Guess we'll see you there! :)

We stayed at Lost Iguana in February, and the food was excellent. They must have a new chef. He came out and talked with the guests and everybody said their food was good. Breakfast was pretty good. Their gallo pinto was great, but I'm not a fan of buffets instead of made to order breakfasts. Nobody mentions their gift shop. We thought it was one of best ones we've found in Costa Rica. We'll probably stop back just to shop. :-)

Shooie, when we were at LI, they had made to order breakfasts a couple of days we were there, other days buffet. The made to order was really good. I'm so glad to know they have a new chef. We'll give dinner another try next time we're there. The restaurant is so beautiful and has that great volcano view.

Emavejess, we will see you there, do say hello. I want to leave now!!! We have booked everything. BdC 16th to 21st. LI 21st to 24th. Lots of flights and rental cars...We will post photos and give a full review when we return.

Definitely do the sunset kayak trip. If you do, bring a set of dry clothes that you can leave at the office to change into. There is a bathroom. I've never been in a kayak before and I had no problems with it and I'm over the age of 50 if that means anything. ;o)

Mixter-
Thanks for the info! It would be my first time kayaking as well.. as long as it is warm!
