Bosque del Cabo

My husband and two boys, 4 and 8 are going to CR in mid april. We want to stay at Bosque but they only have casa teca available for the days we want to stay. It's a garden cottage. They have a deluxe cabina one night, a standard cabina the second night, then we could stay in casa teca the third night. Just not sure whether I want to move each night. Any help or suggestions about what the garden rooms are like would be really helpful. It would be nice to have the ocean view but not sure that I want the hassle to move. Also, is the trek to the garden rooms that far for my little guy?

Hello. I would ask Leonardo at Bosque to email you photos of Casa Teca. We had to move three times last summer in order to stay there but it was really not as big a hassle as you think. They did all the moving of luggage for us. We had a standard, deluxe and then Casa Blanca. We had photos of garden cabinas sent to us. They are pretty simple but I never got a picture of Casa Teca so I don't remember that one. The year before we were at Bosque and it was almost deserted that summer so we were shocked when we had trouble getting a cabina last summer. You will love it even if you have to be vagabonds.

Someone recently reported that the bridge for the short route from the gardens is complete. They were working on this when we were there in Feb. As I recall this path was lighted. Otherwise the long way around is quite a trek and dark.

I saw Casa Teca, but it was occupied, so I restrained from barging in.

We were scheduled in 3 different rooms in Feb, however due to a cancellation we were able to stay in just one. So do ask Leonardo to try an arrange this in the event someone does cancel last minute. However be prepared in the event you have to move around.

Another thing which you have most likely already considered - can you rearrange your trip? This might offer another choice. And you may want to call and talk to Leonardo, things do change from email to email.

Ultimately you have to be comfortable with moving around, but we loved BDC and it would have been worth the hassle.

thanks so much for the info. The bridge is finished - that's what Leonardo said so the walk is just 5 mins. I had heard that the garden cottages are not great - hot with little air movement. The rate is so much cheaper it almost makes it affordable. I opted to do the deluxe first night, then standard, the Teka the last night. Going top to bottom but that's the way it goes. I can't really change when I go since we can't really get down there until the 19th but I so appreciate your reply. Did you stay in a garden cottage?

No, we ended up with a deluxe cabin - Gecko.

I posted a report at the end of Feb, as well as a link to our pictures. Looked at them this morning, in hopes of finding a pic of the cabin, but there were only a couple of shots of the gardens.

Good to hear the bridge is complete, this will make it so much easier and enjoyable.

You will have a great time!

dfarmer,
a while ago I had tried to view your pix but had no luck.
Could you please re-post the link as I'd love to see your shots of BDC.
Thnx!

dfarmer- I was able to access the link to the pictures of your trip and they are fabulous. We will probably try to book in a week or two for next President's week. Do they still not have hot water in the standard cabins? We camped in the USVI without hot water for several years and are at a point in our lives where we don't want to go back to cold. Thanks.

baggyj - I just found the post of my pics again, and copied and pasted and it worked fine. Don't know what could have happened but here is the album with pics of Bosque - maybe it will work for you this time.

Patrick - Glad you enjoyed our pictures. As for hot water, I can totally understand! We only stayed in the one deluxe cabin, but if memory serves me correctly, all the standard and deluxe cabins do now have hot water. But just to be sure, ask Leonardo when you are booking.

Thanks!
Got it this time.
Great pix.
We've still got months to go before we travel...I'm enjoying the anticipation.
