Bosque del Cabo
Going to Bosque del Cabo with my animal fanatic 14 yr. old son. Any advice on the best trails or tours.
Also anybody have any issues with Sansa airlines. Such as leaving your luggage behind |
Do you mean storage at Sansa? Cause they don't have it available. If you mean, being overweight (luggage that is!), no, but just because I stay either under at right at the limits. They are serious about weight, it's a safety issue. BdC has a quick laundry service so you really don't have to bring much. The first day you may care, then afterwards you just start looking like everyone else! ;)
All the trails are worthwhile! If you're there for a few days you'll have time for all of them. Take the Primary tour with Philip, you learn more than you can remember and the pre-dinner night tour, where you'll get to see a lot of things you may not want to (just kidding!). The Refuge tour is a great one and sure your son will love it. Try to chat with others at happy hour or dinner, it's cheaper if you time your visit with other guests. The horse ride with Miguel is wonderful as well, maybe you'll get to see his water buffalos. Keep in mind he doesn't speak English much. One more thing, one of my favourite walks is the driveway - takes about 30-45 minutes up to the main Carate/PJ road. I've seen more monkeys on that road than just about anywhere else. Have a great time! Take some clothespins. |
Agree with tully on the animal refuge and horseback. Also enjoy the kayaking. Depending on how much time you have there try to hike all the trails, if possible. If not, hike the Titi trail (take the driveway up) and to Tropical Gardens repeatedly because they're quick and easy and you're bound to get some sort of animal fix! Keep your luggage to the weight limit and you should be fine with Sansa. My couple stints at BDC were 5 days each so I did laundry once each trip. The on site hikes such as noctural walk, morning birding, primary forest walk are also great.

Thanks for the advice. I have some stories on Trip Advisor about Sansa that didn't sound so promising. We are staying at Bosque for 6nts. My son is really into frogs, snakes, scorpions etc. He has his snake hook already packed!

The tropical garden is great for birds. Titi trail for mammals, but all of them are good. We loved the Primary Forest tour with Phillip and the animal sanctuary too - we even saw dolphins. A woman on our plane had luggage under the weight limit, and they gave her a really hard time about it. Her bag only weighed 19 pounds, but they proclaimed hers the heaviest and said she couldn't bring it; she threw a fit, and they caved in.

What if any wildlife do you have a chance of seeing on the kayak tour
|
Not a lot of wildlife kayaking, mostly a few birds, but great scenery through the mangroves and ocean if you do the ocean kayak.
