Booking Eco Termales

We’ve been planning our CR trip for a year now, and decided against zip lines (we are not the adrenaline rush kind of people) and against hot springs (could not understand why people would be interested in just soaking in some hot water). So very little research (if any) was done on both types of activities.

Suddenly, less than 2 weeks before we leave, we decided we want to do the zip lines and probably, the hot springs, too. We’ll probably book the Sky Trek with Desafio – sounds like a reputable company. Do they pick up from hotels? We’ll stay at Lost Iguana…

As for hot springs, if we decide to go to any, it will probably be Eco Termales – I know we should book in advance, but I cannot find their web site, if they have one. How should we book, through arenal.net? Thanks

We stayed at the Lost Iguana in November of 2007. We did SkyTrek and Ecothermales and did not book either ahead of time. The hotel booked both for us. If you want to book ahead of time, you may want to contact the hotel to do that for you. The hotel arranged transportation for both.

Book Eco Termales through Arenal.net now!

We waited until we got to Arenal in February and they were booked up. Don't make the mistake we made.

We have a trip planned in March and booked our Ecothermales night through arenal.net. I couldn't find any other method.

Yes we also booked Eco Termales through Arenal.net.

It sounds like you may have already missed the opportunity if you are going the same time we are... It's sold out Feb 14-15 in the evening time slot. I hope you got it!!

We'll probably see you there. We'll be there the evening of February 14.

We booked ours through Sunset Tours; it was a combo day with a volcano hike and then the evening at the springs. The chicken dinner at Eco Termales was really good. We met people that said they couldn't get in to Eco Termales because it was all filled up, so I would definitely book ahead. They only let in 100 people per night.

xyz, Sky Trek will pick you up at your hotel for a fee. You can make a reservation directly on their website. www.skytrek.com

Wow, thanks for all the warnings. I emailed them today, they still have availability for our dates. We’ll be there on the 8th.

volcanogirl, what did you think about the volcano hike? Would you recommend it? Is it on the list of ‘not-to be-missed’ or just ok?

janenicole, thanks for the link. However, booking thorough arenal.net is cheaper, so I’ll use them.

Hi, x - for me the volcano hike was just okay. We didn't get as close as I was expecting, didn't see much wildlife, and when we went to the observation point it started pouring rain. We got one glimpse of lava and everyone ran back to the bus. I imagine if the weather had cooperated it might have been a little better. I don't really think you'd be missing a lot if you skipped it though.

Looks like a lot of us will be at arenal at the same time. My boyfriend and I were planning on eco termales for the 12th. I'm submitting my reservation now and crossing my fingers!

Very interesting that arenal.net is cheaper for Sky Trek than going directly to Sky Trek's website! And they offer pick up, too. Good to know! I will be making a change!
