Birthday Dinner in PV - What restaurant?

I will be celebrating my birthday while in PV during the first week of May. I will be joined by a few good friends, so this won't be a romantic dinner. I want to find a fun restaurant with fantastic food for this type of occasion. I love all types of food, especially seafood. Any suggestions?

I'd probably go somewhere along Playa Los Muertos beach, there are many restaurant (incl daquiri dick, la palapa, etc)... where they pull their tables down on the sand, light the tiki torches, with strolling mariachi bands. Go for drinks at sunset, stay for dinner after dark. You may literally have the waves washing over your feet.

Dear LKL:

PiPi's would also be good for a B-day. Extra large margaritas, large plates(some so large you can share) plus it is has a very festive atmosphere.

I agree with Suze. Tables in the sand( and toes too!) Tilki torches and stolling mariachi bands. La Palapa comes to mind with this one.

Just this Thurs. night I ate at El Brujo. Food was fantastic. Here is an attempt at location (But please call the Hotel Posada Roger and they can give you the address - they recommended it and it was sooo good and reasonably priced). In the Romantic Zone, from Basillio Badillio at Freddy Tucons, you walk one block North and then 5 blocks East. It is on the south/east corner of the intersection. There are not a lot of tables. They have a waiting line every night. The waitress we had was a college grad and spoke very good English. She did not hesitate when we asked for her opinion (and we were not disappointed). My friend and I tried two different entrees of stuffed fish, The 4th of Sept. was one of the names of the entrees. $10.00 US A lady told me she had octypus (SP) and it was awesome.

LaPalapa or Daquiri Dicks seem to be the most popular on Los Muertos, but the owner of LaPalapa also own another restaurant on top of a hill overlooking P.V. called Vista Grille beautiful doesn't get any more romantic than any of these.

Your right about that one Butsey!!!
I am so glad you continue to enjoy Vista Grille, i just could not go to P.V without going there.

Since you don't care about romantic, PiPi's on Pipila (4 blocks up from the ocean). It is fun, lively, reasonable prices and a big menu.

We haved lived in Puerto Vallarta for years and our favorite restaurant for fun and food and view is Felipes. All of our guests vote it number #1. They have fabulous Camarones Orly (coconut shrimp) no one else can compare for the price. The rouqfort steak is awesome too. You cannot beat their Caesar salad and the "sexy" coffee. The waiters are fun and do a great show with the tableside preparations and the flaming coffees and desserts, all for a lot less than you pay other places. It is not crowded and you have a view of the city and the fireworks! Pipis may be fun but it is very touristy!

One of my new favorites is Epoca at 174 Aquiles Serdan (near Olas Altas). It's been recently revamped and has a great Mexican-gourmet menu. Another great party spot is the Bodeguita del Medio (B del M) on the malecon-fabulous mojitos and Cuban music. Happy Birthday
