Best Places to Go in the Lake District
 

Hello everyone:<BR><BR>I plan to spend a week in the Lake District in November. Does anyone have any recommendations as to the places in the Lake District I should try to visit? <BR><BR>Thanks so much.<BR>

Take the boats across the lakes to Bariloche.

Any recommendations for which towns to not miss? Any good places to stay or eat? Will have a car.

Need suggestions for good restaurants and places to stay in both Chiloe and the Lake District. Anyone?

Just got back from Chile, where we stayed in Cabanas del Lago in Puerto Varas. Nothing remarkable, but good location and Best Western affiliated, overlooking the lake.<BR>Best restaurants in Puerto Montt/Puerto Varas area: Ibis, Merlin and Kika. <BR>We did not stay in Chiloe, but drove around through the island; many good places to eat in Ancud.

How expensive were the meals in Chile? How much at Merlin in Puerto Veras? Were many menus in English too? I know basic Spanish but don't know many Spanish words for food preparation.Did you eat at any of the seafoods markets at Angelmo, etc?

Did not eat at Angelmo, but have been told the restaurants there are quite good.<BR><BR>Without wine, a meal at these places will probably cost around $30 US for 2 people.
