Best of Belize?
My husband and I are planning a trip to Belize in either July or August of this year. I've been trying to do my resort research, but haven't found a ton of stuff. So - I need some opinions!
We're looking to probably split our time - 3-4 days jungle, 3-4 days beach. Knowing that Belize is beautiful to begin with, I'm not 100% worried about location. I am worried about finding great hotels/resorts. SO - please recommend the "best of the best" (esp. service and comfort/luxury) in Belize! Price isn't an issue... |
Look at Victoria House on Ambergris Caye.
Look at Blancaneaux near San Ignacio. Its a Francis Ford Copolla place and is beautiful in my opinion. Very lush. You can look at Turtle Inn in Placencia. Also by Coppola. I don't like the setting but its a well liked Inn none the less. There's been so much construction in Placencia lately that I probably wouldn't stay down there, though. |
Katie Valk on this site can help (she lives there and helped us). We spent 3 nts at Chaa Creek (near San Ignacio) & 6 nts Banyan Bay on Ambergris Caye. We loved Chaa Creek and liked Banyan Bay. Enjoy!

We are going to Hamanasi Resort 1/16-1/24. Since July and Aug. are fairly slow you can wait as late as April/May and get the accommodations you want.
I will report back. It combines snorkel/diving with interior trips since it is land based on the water at Hopkins near Dangriga and 35 minutes from a very nice section of the reef with daily trips as part of the package and what sounds like 2 very interesting treks (you can go on 4 but really 2 sound exciting). We will see. |
There's lots of Bests:
Chaa Creek, Chan Chich, Blancaneaux, Roberts Grove, Turtle Inn, Victoria House, Cayo Espanto. and places that are best for their unique offerings-like Hidden Valley inn with 7 private waterfalls and 90 miles of trails. Decide what trips you want and then book the best in that area. |
