Best Hotel In Santiago Chile
 

We will be in Santiago for four nights, are are looking for recommendations from past travelers for five star hotels. Thanks.

I did! However, I like to get feedback from others. I made reservations for the Hyatt at the Regency Club. It seems like a nice hotel, and had good ratings.

We stayed at Carrera. The rooms were very good, the location was excellent. We would stay there again.

Hi Sweetsue,<BR><BR>We also stayed at the Carrera Hotel about 5 years ago. It is a good hotel in a great location but my only complaint at that time was that I felt some of the rooms and hallways etc. needed some refurbishing. Things like carpets etc. were getting quite worn looking. It had a very beautiful lobby area which was well kept. The rooms were also very spacious and nicely appointed. We had a room looking out onto the government square so were able to view the changing of the guard from our window. Hopefully they have done some refurbishing since then and if so I would definitely recommend the hotel. If not I think your choice of the Hyatt is a good one and would probably be my next choice.

Hello, again. We have stayed twice at the Sheraton. We posted our thoughts about it in the &quot;rants and raves.&quot; The room was quite nice on the executive floor. But that lounge is ONLY open for breakfast. The half shower doors allow flooding everytime we showered. So if you stay there, request several extra large towels for mopping (We are not kidding). I understand that the San Cristobal Tower's lounge is open at night. The restaurants were good as was the lobby bar. You have to try Pisco Sour--regardless of where you stay. But be cautious---that sweet drink has a mean kick! The outdoor pool and lounge areas were very pleasant. One of the advantages of staying at the Sheraton is that you can quickly walk to the Teleferico Station. Here are some &quot;things to do&quot; suggestions: Parque Metropolitano (but only on a clear day). Museo de Arte Precolombino.<BR>Cerro Santa Lucia.

I read your review about the water problem earlier. We bought Piso the last time we were in Chile. It does make a good drink!<BR><BR>I think we are just going to stay at the Hyatt. I got a good rate at the Regency Club, and they are open all day.<BR><BR>We were supposed to stay at the new Ritz Carlton, but they are not opening until two weeks afer we are going to be there. They owed us some nights as a comp....so again, we cannot use our freebies. I think they are on my list at this point.<BR><BR>I know the Hyatt is out a ways, but we are good at taking the subway, so it shouldn't be a problem.<BR><BR>Thanks for your posts.

I have stayed in some of the hotels mentioned previously, last time I found a very nice one called the Santiago Park Plaza, I believe this was the name. It is a chic, European style hotel. Good location , not in downtown.

hi sue, <BR>the hyatt is a great hotel but you would need to take a cab to get to the metro but that shouldn't be a problem since cabs are so cheap here. <BR>if you would prefer to be within walking distance almost all of our visitors stay at plaza el bosque which is also in the las condes area.<BR>have a great visit :)

Has anyone stayed at the Sheraton-Santiago recently? Is there still a problem with the showers flooding? Are there any good restaurants in the vicinity?

The Carerra is the grand dame of Santiago hotels and as it is closing permanently at the end of February it might be nice to give it a try. The rooftop restaurant and pool are fantastic. The Los Condes neighborhood also has many great hotels with easy subway access and many great restaurants.
