Stayed at Sanchiri last Jan/Feb for 2 nights. We opted to stay in the older original cabinas, built into the hillside rather than the new conference rooms. They look very nice, but too all-American Holiday Inn'ish for me. We enjotyed it there very much. Helpful, friendly staff, excellent dinners very good breakfast (but not much variety). Cabinas may be a little dark for some, the are panelled, the stone bath is downstairs from the bedroom. Not fancy, but I like leaving the USA and trying different things, we enjoyed it. Views from Sanchiri are truly lovely. Dining room is rather dull in style and lighting is too bright, , so opt for the connected outside dining area - it is a much nicer experience. Sanchiri is worth it for the great food and views, pleasant cabinas and good location.

On carib side stayed at Banana Azul, absolutely fabulous place. Highly recommend hotel amd wonderful, helpful owners. (Cariblu looked promising and our driver also recommended it, based on previous client feedback.) Driving up to Punta Uva was a little far but we did it twice, beautiful swimming beach with facilities, as well as surf options. Overall my family loved PV and carib side. Another must return place in CR...how will we pick for our 3rd trip???
