Best Beaches in PV?

Does anyone have recommendations for good day trip beach excursions outside of PV. Perhaps ones with bar/lunch places close by? thanks!

Don't forget Punta de Mita

Punta de Mita doesn't exist anymore, except as the Four Seasons Resort. The closest you can get is a nice beach called El Anclote.
JR

Take the bus that says Punta de Mita. Long ride to the end of the line. It goes to a small beach with a choice of 2 local restaurants. Great service, reasonable, good food. Didn't see a Four Seasons around just some condos.

I'm glad the subject of Punta de Mita came up. A few years back we took the bus out that way & spent the day on the beach in front of a restaurant called El Dorado (I think that was the name). The bus made its way through a little neighbourhood of houses before getting to where the bus turned around. We thought we were at Punta de Mita. But now I'm wondering...was that in fact El Anclote beach? I'm confused as to what IS and ISN'T considered to be Punta de Mita. Is Punta de Mita then around the end of the bay ? Thanks!
Punta de Mita is the name of the northern point of Bahia Banderas. There used to be a small village (more a colection of huts) at the point.
When the Four Seasons Hotel bought the whole point, they move the people there to the El Anclote beach area. The road to the point now has a guarded entry, so that is why the 'Punta de Mita' bus stops there and turns around but it's not really Punta de Mita!
