Best B.A. neighborhood

I just booked an 8 night trip in April, our first to Argentina. We're a couple of young 50's that like eating, wine, shopping, tourist sites, and walking not all museums. What is your recommendation for B.A. neighborhood, safety counts. Want to be under $100us for a hotel but will check after we' find the right area. Thanks

Hi
There are varying opinions on which neighborhood here is the best..Recoleta is really great but so is Palermo.
In both you can find good eating, wine and shopping..Recoleta has a lot of tourist sites..you can walk to the Belle Artes Museum in Recoleta.
The MALBA is in Palermo and you cannot walk there from here (Recoleta) or the other way around..well, you could but it is a really long walk.

They are both safe..

Finding a hotel room under $100 will be the hard part. Things are not expensive here, but some things are- hotel rooms are not generally a bargain.
I can personally recommend the Art Suites Hotel, www.artsuites.com.ar
Soon you will hear from others who will have more advice for you..
We arrived here at the end of April and the weather was very pleasant..

I feel walking from the Recoleta to the MALBA is no big deal.

Does your $100 hotel budget per night include the 21% VAT?

the hotels usually tell you in the fine print on the rates page of their web site whether tax is included. Normally the more expensive the hotel the less likely it is that tax is included.
