best all-inclusive vallarta hotel

Late 20's women vacationing in the puerto vallarta area in September. we want an all-inclusive package, for the drinks alone.

we plan to do the beach/pool thing by day and interested in doing some bar hopping. planning to spend anywhere from $600-$800/person. does anyone have suggestions for a hotel? so far have looked into the RIU, Royal Decameron, or Golden Crown Paradise. any thoughts would be helpful. thanks.

looks like most of those you are looking at are away from town. If you'd like to be more convenient, check out Dreams. Lovely spot, haven't stayed there since it became ai, though.

My suggestion is to check a map. Because several of those resorts are WAY out in Nuevo Vallarta, which is more than 1 hour drive from downtown PV... where you'd need to go for bar hopping, nightclubs, shopping, restaurants, etc.

Also as singles, I really think you'd want to stay closer if not right IN town. The resorts you mention are more couples, families, retired, etc. (is my impression I actually don't know for sure because I always stay downtown)!

Personally, I feel like anyone who does AI in a place like Vallarta (which is LOADED with EXCELLENT and VERY affordable restaurants) is at least a cylinder short of a V8.

All inclusive is a real good way to waste your money when in Vallarta...consequently, I don't recommend ANY of 'em.

Your mileage may vary.

AI in Puerto Vallarta is not necessary. Find a hotel/resort that is close to town. Drinks & meals are cheap & excellent. The town is also beautiful. You will be missing out staying at an AI.

Don't know where you will be flying from for $800 or how long you are going to be there because that is really inexpensive. Go to trip advisor.com and check out the hotels you are interested in. I would recommend the Dreams Hotel but there is absolutely no nite life there at all. Great location and the best beach. Good Luck

I was trying to be more polite ;-) but I agree *completely* with TioGringo about going the all-inclusive route in Puerto Vallarta.

Why chain yourself to the same place day after day, when there are absolutely loads of great bars, cafes, restaurants, with reasonable priced food and drinks???

If it's the cocktails that's making you think A-I is smart, simply buy a styrofoam cooler when you first get to town, stock it with ice from the corner store, buy some booze and mixers, and you're good to go!!!

How long do you plan to stay? I'm surprised you can get a resort like the ones you mention that cheap.

That said, still I would recommend a place in town or down on Playa Los Muertos the very popular main local beach on the southside.
