Quaint, yet affordable beach resorts w/dining option in CR or Belize?
My niece and I are looking to travel to either CR or Belize this November and would like to find a smaller resort on a beach that offers a dining option add-on. It doesn't have to be all-inclusive, as I know a lot of those are quite large. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What's the reason for the dining add-on? On site dining often isn't the best food although some places are so remote that you have no other or very limited options. Which brings me to my next question, how remote? There are single resort cayes or would you prefer something near a town? What kind of activities are you interested in while there?

I had a similar question: you're sure you want only 1 restaurant to serve you? Lots of village environments with great restaurants. For example, in March we stayed on Caulker, prepared many of our own meals (by choice) and enjoyed a few awesome meals out. Here's where we stayed:

Here's another place we love in Hopkins Village:

The vast majority of tourists head to Ambergris Caye, but our only temptation has been Tranquility Bay, secluded on north Ambergris (might be worth the splurge since your visit is during slow season):

My photos with blog, travelogue, and review links on the main page of each collection are below in case you're interested - all my recommendations are embedded there.
Happy planning!

Victoria House on Ambergris is amazing, not sure of what your budget is, but it's a small resort on a beautiful beach, nice pool, beach bar, and restaurant. There are lots of great restaurants in town to explore though, only a $5 taxi ride away, or you can use their free bikes, or rent a golf cart. Food off property is usually a lot more affordable than what's at the resorts.
