Belize: Victoria House vs. Exotic Caye Beach Resort

We are planning a trip to Ambergris Caye in February/March, 2011. Trying to choose between two resorts - Victoria House and Exotic Caye Beach Resort. Would appreciate hearing comments from anyone who has been to either (or both).

VH, hands down, don't give it another thought. About the best on the beach.

I have friends who staya at Exotic Caye. It's ok, but definitely not even close to being in the same league as Victoria House.

VH is a beautiful property. Very nice grounds, nice beach, pretty pools. It's where I'd stay if I was going to 'splurge'.

Agree with everyone else. We loved VH. It's one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. The beach there is very pretty, bigger than a lot of the other beaches we saw, and the sand was soft, powdery, and white. They organized some nice snorkeling tours for us. The guided tour to Hol Chan was particularly amazing; we saw big sea turtles, rays, nurse sharks, and gorgeous colorful fish. Excellent food in both the dining room and the bar. They also have free bikes you can use or golf carts for rent. A taxi into town is only five bucks. Our room had a nice balcony, and we really enjoyed that. We plan to go back someday.
