Belize Municipal Airport

Hi, all! I was wondering how small the Belize municipal airport is? Are there food places or restaurants where you can grab lunch if you need to?

I haven't been there in a couple years. There used to be a couple small bar/restaurants across the parking lot from the 'terminal'. We're talking really small. We were assured if we were sitting in the bar drinking that Tropic would come and get us for our flight. They were correct.

Oh, wow, seriously?! That is small!

There's a little bar/restaurant in the departure area, I know, and several gift shops and duty-free. Be warned that when you leave Belize, someone may grab your bags and haul them all the way to the counter for you on a rental cart (that is, alla the way around the corner to the counter, about 20 feet!) The airport reminded me of a u-shaped minimall around an open-air parking lot (rental cars).

sylvia,
Are you referring to municipal or international?

RAC Mar 5th, 2010 02:58 PM

BZE is small but crowded. I believe Tropic Air flies domestic flights out of there.

Patty Mar 5th, 2010 03:37 PM

BZE is the international airport. Municipal is a different airport. Tropic and Maya Island Air fly out of both.

Yep, I'm not talking about the international airport, but the smaller one that you can take to the cayes.

Yoicks, Patty, you are right!
